Makina is an exciting young prospect whose pedigree, physical development, and early reports have already generated strong anticipation ahead of her racing debut. A Kentucky-bred chestnut filly foaled April 26, 2024, she is by brilliant Grade I–winning sprinter Jack Christopher out of Grey Calla, a daughter of Arrogate, blending elite speed with classic stamina influences.

Purchased at the 2025 Keeneland September Sale and campaigned by Dutch Girl Holdings, LLC and Irving Ventures, LLC, Makina has been developing at a private training center in Kentucky as she prepares for her transition to full race training. Early observations from the sales grounds to her current training environment have pointed to a filly who has continued to progress physically and athletically with each month of growth.

Described by bloodstock agent Michael Pender as a filly who has “far exceeded expectations,” Makina has impressed with her presence, balance, and forward development. True to her name, she has been likened to a “machine” in the making—an athlete whose strength and natural ability suggest significant upside once she reaches the track.
