Dutch Girl Holdings is led by founding partner Michele Arthur and ownership partner Ruben Islas, whose shared passion for racing and commitment to teamwork have quickly shaped a competitive and fast-rising stable. Built on trust, horsemanship, and a “live a great story” philosophy, their collaboration continues to guide the growth of the Dutch Girl Holdings program.
Michele Arthur is the founder of Dutch Girl Holdings, LLC and a hands-on Thoroughbred owner whose rise in the sport began with a single behind-the-scenes visit to the backstretch—an experience that quickly evolved into a serious, results-driven racing venture.
A lifelong horse enthusiast, Michele draws inspiration from her Dutch heritage—reflected in the stable’s name and signature orange silks—and has built Dutch Girl Holdings around a simple philosophy: choose the right people, trust the process, honor the pageantry of the sport, and always do right by the horse.
She is deeply involved in the team’s strategy and culture, fostering collaboration while pursuing success at the sport’s highest levels.
Ruben Islas, principal of Irving Ventures, LLC, is a passionate Thoroughbred owner and core partner in Dutch Girl Holdings’ Thoroughbred racing program. Drawn to the sport for its energy, rich history, and the shared thrill of the winner’s circle, Ruben approaches ownership as a true team experience—putting the horse first, trusting and empowering the experts, and celebrating the people behind the scenes as much as the victories themselves.
Ruben brings an entrepreneurial mindset and collaborative spirit to the stable, viewing racing not just as competition, but as a shared adventure and a long-term team pursuit grounded in trust, strategy, and enthusiasm.
